PREMIUM CARBON FIBRE BODY ENHANCEMENTS FOR SUPERCARS
DESIGNED & MANUFACTURED IN THE UK
We are PI Carbon, creators of bespoke carbon fibre parts and body kits for Supercar connoisseurs. With over 30 years collective automotive experience in driving and modifying supercars, our vision for PI Carbon is born out of a desire to achieve automotive perfection.
What sets us apart.
Above all, we are car drivers and aficionados with a tenacious passion for beautiful cars. We have owned, driven and lived supercars from Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Bentley & McLaren for over 20 years. We’ve driven them daily, on the road and the track and have been able to critique every nuance of these exquisitely crafted powerhouses. In own our dedicated body shop, we’ve dissembled, repaired & rebuilt these vehicles to be visually better and stronger.
The next step.
Our desire for enhanced looks & performance led us to source aftermarket parts and body kits to further enhance our experience as owners. Many of these products, despite the price tag, fell short of our expectations of both quality & performance.
This experience set the seed for development of our own carbon fibre parts and body kits which was soon to become PI Carbon the brand. With PI Carbon we were able to call the shots from the outset and sourced the best automotive designers, creatives and manufacturers to achieve outstanding levels of quality, finish and unparalleled performance. Only when our own standards were exceeded were we willing to launch our products.
Carbon fibre
For over 50 years carbon fibre has been the preferred composite material in motorsport parts manufacturing as it has approximately five times the strength of steel and twice the rigidity. Composite materials account for 85% of Formula 1 cars and only 20% of their weight. It’s combination of high tensile strength and extremely low weight make carbon fibre the optimum composite material for use in the manufacture of automotive body parts.
Woven carbon or forged carbon
Woven carbon and forged carbon share many of the same benefits but with some distinct differences. Both materials share their supreme lightweight and high strength properties but have a different aesthetic appearance. Woven carbon filament sheets give the popular pattern for which carbon fibre has been known for many years. The interwoven strands when sealed in epoxy resin and cured carry the highest tensile strength of the two composites.
Forged carbon was developed with Lamborghini in collaboration with Callaway Golf and the University of Washington initially to replace existing aluminium suspension control arms. It consists of chopped carbon fibres infused with resin and placed into a compression mould under extreme high pressure which forges it into shape. This creates a very different aesthetic finish with a marbled effect giving each piece a totally unique finish.
